If you want to understand a side-by-side comparison of air frying versus deep frying, I’m going to share everything you wanted to know. I’ll compare which is more beneficial for health, energy costs, food costs, food taste/texture, and safety.

What is Air Frying

Air frying is a relatively new cooking technique that has recently gained popularity.
Restaurants frequently employ it to prepare their food because it is a healthier alternative to deep frying.
French fries are one of the foods that are most frequently air-fried.
Let’s discuss why Nkwa Dua prefers shallow fry or air fry foods like fries rather than deep fry.

First off, frying in the air is healthier than deep frying.
To deep-fry, you submerge food in scalding oil, which can boost the item’s calorie and fat content.
The dish may also absorb too much oil from the hot oil, turning it greasy and unhealthy.

Contrastingly, air frying uses hot air to cook the food rather than just oil, which consumes less oil overall. As a result, the food is less oily and has a lower calorie and fat content. Second, air frying can make french fries’ texture better. Deep-fried fries can be highly crispy on the outside yet soggy on the inside. This happens due to the high oil temperature, which causes the fries’ exterior to cook more quickly than their interior. In contrast, air frying cooks the fries using hot air, resulting in a more uniform texture.

The fries are more satisfying to eat since they have a crispy exterior and a soft interior.

Thirdly, air frying is less harmful to the environment than deep frying. You need large amounts of oil for deep frying, and if you do not dispose of the oil appropriately, it can be wasteful. On the other hand, air frying uses little to no oil, reducing discarded waste.  Reducing our carbon footprint is a huge bonus for those who care about the environment.

Also, air fryers use less oil than deep fryers, which may result in lower oil expenditures over time.

Finally, frying food in the air can be a safer cooking technique than deep frying. If the hot oil for deep frying splashes, pops, or spills, it can cause severe third-degree burn injuries. As a food service, air frying is safer to protect our people. You may choose the same thing for your home. If you get injured while cooking alone, it may be difficult to get help. But if you are cooking with others there could be a greater chance of a bump or mishap causing an accident involving the hot oil. If you use an air fryer at home it’s also a safer solution.

In conclusion, if you are deciding whether to try air frying now, you know it can be safer for your family, healthier, better for the environment, use 99% less oil, and improve texture and taste—hooray for easy decisions.

Plus, we get to eat cookies that are kind to the planet – it’s a win-win situation!

Secondly, making vegan cookies is good for our health. When we use plant-based ingredients, we are consuming less saturated fat and cholesterol, which can lead to a healthier heart. Vegan cookies can be made with wholesome ingredients like oats, nuts, and seeds, which are all good sources of nutrients that our bodies need.

Thirdly, making vegan cookies is a fun activity for kids! Baking is a great way to spend time with family and friends, and it’s even more fun when we get to experiment with different ingredients and flavors. I love adding chocolate chips and raisins to my cookies – they make them taste so yummy!

Now, let’s get into the recipe. For this vegan cookie recipe, we will be using simple ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. Here’s what you’ll need:

Chef Ama’s Kid-Friendly Vegan Lemon Drop Cookies Recipe

1 cup Flour

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

2 small lemons ~ 2 tbsp lemon juice

1/4 cup Flaxseed

1/4 TSP Lemon extract

1/4 Pinch of Salt

Preparation Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Grind flaxseed. Juice lemons.
2. Then, add and whisk together the lemon juice, sugar, salt, butter, and lemon extract until well combined. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground flaxseed, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Always do the dry ingredients first.
3.  Sift flour and mix with the other ingredients.

   Mix or let an adult put it in a mixer. Refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Take it out and place on parchment paper in fun cookie shapes. Then, let an adult bake it for 12 minutes at 180°

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. The dough should come out sticky.
5. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes – 1 hour. The dough will be firmer and cookie-dough-like.
6. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
7. Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Enjoy your delicious vegan cookies with a glass of my original As Above Sobolo.
